Slowly loosing it's former grandeur

Good location with quick access to the city center. The rooms are spacious, even the bathroom is a bid tight. The fried bananas is a must, as these are the best in the area.

It used to be the grand lady of hotels in the city. The property is getting a bit old and would need a facelift to modernize its look.

The price was really good even though we booked the stay the same day.

The hotel is pretty old. It’s not dirty but should have a refresh.

Nice hotel with value for money

Prestigious hotel. Although may be outdated,nice the facility is well maintained and the place was tidy. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed live music with a pianist and two lady singer during our diner in the hotel

Pleasant enough for one night.

Good place for a layover on your way to the islands, they will arrange transport to the pier and on the boat to Koh Tao for 900 baht, other islands are probably cheaper.

Some mold issues in the bathroom, nothing major.

It was clean and friendly and had a nice pool area

The pool was unclean. The hotel is not really geared up for western tourists.

This hotel was fine for an overnight stay.

Swimming pool and grounds were very well kept. Food in the restaurant was quite good.

Room could do with an update. Bathroom was old. Hot water in shower very hard to adjust, either scalding hot or cold.

The best hotel in Surat is actually the worst hotel.

Breakfast was terrible. The room was old and smelly. In the room description it said shower bath and hot tub but we just had an old walk in shower. The staff did not understand our issues and really did not try to help us.

Tired old classy hotel. Nice room but brown dirty bath water, pool closed.

I liked the bed and the room ok

There was a long delay to get hot water from shower and bath ( a few mins..I thought there was no hot water at all at first) and the bath water was really dirty brown. Rust from pipes. My gf would not shower in it.

Quiet, Clean, Comfortable Stay

Its a old hotel, possible built by the English I'd say in the 1950's, but its proven to be well built and serviceable. I would stay again.

The Suite had a hot water issue. It was barely warm. The bed was incredibly hard, however this seems to be the norm for Thailand.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and were by far the best thing about the hotel. Restaurant food was good quality and reasonably priced

I think the hotel is long overdue a renovation and modernisation.

Ideal hotel for a short stay when transferring

Great for a short stay, rooms are spacious and there is free WiFi.

There is really nothing to do and no charm to Surat Thani, this is only a stop before you take a flight somewhere else or a ferry to one of the islands. The hotel looks like a blast back to the eighties when it comes to decor and the rooms. Breakfast has a small western selection which was bad, the Thai and Chinese buffet was very extensive, which we did not try as we had an early breakfast and weren't in the mood for curry's and steamed pork buns.

it was a reasonable stay - I do think that bookings dot com should ask for recent photo's

the room was clean and the bed was soft

The aircon was noisy - the décor was dated , the online photo's need to be recent ones as there is a big difference to the reality as to the online photo's

enjoyed our short stay

Good value for the money, big hotel good size swimming pool big restaurant large selection of food choice of Thai Chinese, and European, service was very good. rooms look a bit tired need updating beds quite firm, room size was good value, big fridge seating area. TV could have had more English speaking films what film channels available were all in Thai. However didn't go there to watch TV. All staff very friendly and helpful.

Beds to firm, rooms need updating. Quality of food could be better.
